This article provides information about the FortiManager Cloud account-level license support for older FortiGate firmware versions like version 6.2 and lower and suggestions to proceed with the integration.

 

Scope

 

FortiManager Cloud.

 

Solution

 

As per the current FortiCare check requirement, the account-level FMGC license will override the device-level FMGC license if the FortiGate device-level license is expired. 

 

The license can be verified in FortiCloud as shown below:

 

Device-Level FMGC license:

These account-level license will not affects the existing FortiGate with a device-level license and the service will be available with an account-level license after the device-level license expired. The license can be verified from FortiGate with the command below:

 

diagnose test update info

 

Look for the results below in the output:

Note:

Note that for FortiGate version 6.2.x and below are unable to support the account-level license and the FortiManager Cloud option in the GUI will be greyed out. 

 

If you are in FortiOS version 6.2, you will have the following options:

 

1) Upgrade FortiGate firmware to v6.4.x, v.7.0.x or v7.2.x to support of account-level license.

2) Upgrade the FortiGate hardware that the last FortiOS version is 6.2 and below.
