This article describes how to transfer the DDNS record from the old unit to the new unit.
Scope
FortiGate.
Solution
Try to configure the FortiDDNS name that belongs to the old FortiGate in the new one, and it shows 'Domain not available'.
By opening a TAC support ticket, the existing FortiDDNS association with the old FortiGate can be deleted.
As verification, provide the FortiDDNS name, old FortiGate serial number (optionally, the IP address that the domain was resolving to), and Proof of Ownership of the old FortiGate serial number (Purchase Order, Screenshot of GUI's Dashboard).
Once the confirmation from the TAC engineer is obtained, it is possible to register the same name on the new FortiGate.
