Description

This article describes that after changing the user which makes login on the specific station or the station name, the Asset Identity Center, Users and Devices, and Log and Report are not updating.

This database is created from the IoT Service and stored on the Asset Identity Center.

Scope FortiGate v7.2.4, IoT Service.
Solution

In this example, it is possible to see that DESKTOP-FM15M6O is on the logs:

And from the CLI too:

But as visible from the Desktop, the client name has already been changed:

 

new name pc screen.jpg

 

As this information is populated from the IoT Services, the device does not update as expected and will need to clear this database to repopulate again.

Be careful if there is no intent to clear the database but just the device issued.

 

Select the device from the filter before clear it:

The commands to clear:

 

diagnose user device filter addr <IP ADDRESS>

diagnose user device clear

 

After some minutes the device is updated:
