Description |
This article describes a possible way to resolve when an IP address is not showing on the FortiClient GUI. |
Scope |
FortiGate, FortiClient, VPN. |
Solution |
In this scenario, the user is currently using v7.4.6 FortiOS firmware and v7.2.0 FortiClient using a Dial-Up VPN. Looking at the compatibility matrix between FortiOS and FortiGate, both firmware versions are compatible and should be working fine. However, the user experiences the issue below.
Limitations: This issue is only being experienced on a Windows machine. When the user tries to connect using an iOS device, a VPN connection is established, and the IP address is shown on the GUI of FortiClient.
When checking on the diagnose VPN gateway list for the Windows user, the assigned IP address is showing from the FortiGate side. VPN Phase2 logs also show a successful connection with the assigned IP address:
Recommended solutions below:
diagnose vpn tunnel flush <tunnel name>
Or:
diagnose vpn ike gateway clear name <tunnel name>
