This article explains how to enable the viewing of the DNS Server Database in GUI in FortiOS

Solution
From 5.6.0 onwards DNS server can be enabled from GUI go to System -> Feature Select, select DNS Database and select 'Apply'.
Through CLI using the following command:
# config system settings
set gui-dns-database enable
end
The option is now be available under System -> Network -> DNS Servers.
Additional Note: On newer versions of the FortiOS, the option Feature Select is now changed to Feature Visibility; again, under System.
The view will be as seen below, as an example, on version 7.2.12:
The same will be for branches 7.4.x and 7.6.x.
The CLI command will continue being the same on all newer versions.
