Description | This article describes how to assign DHCP range to the users from the secondary IP address assigned on the interface. |
Scope | FortiGate. |
Solution |
By Design, it is not possible to assign a DHCP address from the secondary IP address assigned on the interface because when the router interface receives the DHCP request, it will forward it to the DHCP server with the primary IP address as the source address configured on the interface. The DHCP server knows which IP pool must be used (to assign it to the client) in the DHCP reply packet.
Solution1: Assign the DHCP range from the primary IP address of the interface without adding secondary IP address information.
Solution2: Create a new interface and then configure the DHCP on that interface.
