Description This article describes how to configure a customized image for a blocked replacement message.
Scope

FortiProxy v7.0.0, v7.2.0, v7.4.0 and later.

Solution

Add the customized image to FortiProxy in order to use it in the replacement messages.

 

To upload images in the FortiProxy's GUI:

  1. Go to System -> Replacement Messages.
  2.  In the top menu, select 'Manage Images'.

  1. Select 'Create New'.
  2. Enter a name for the image.
  3. Select Upload Image, then browse and locate the image file.

  1. Select 'OK' to save the image. Now the file is visible in the image list.

 

Let's edit the FortiGuard Web Filtering and replace message:

 

  1. Go to System -> Replacement Messages.
  2. Select 'FortiGuard Block Page' under 'FortiGuard Web Filtering' and select 'Edit'.

  1. On the Message Format: text/html find the line 'background: url(%%IMAGE:logo_v3_fguard_app%%) no-repeat left center'.
  2. Change the image file name from default 'logo_v3_fguard_app' to the name configured when the custom image has been uploaded (i.e 'itsecurity').

Note

The height of the image can also be modified in pixels based on specific requirements.

 

After doing the file's name change, the left screen will show the preview 'Web Page Blocked' using the custom image.

 

  1. Select 'Save' to apply the change.

 

It is possible to configure a web filter profile to block some websites, then apply that profile to a firewall policy to see that the replace message is showing the custom image when URLs are properly blocked:
