Description This article describes how FortiNAC Enforced VPN which is not connecting after the upgrade to Windows 11.
Scope FortiNAC 8.X 9.X, 7.X.
Solution
  1. Download the persistent agent logs from the Windows machine using the kb article linked below: Troubleshooting Tip: Windows Persistent Agent logs.

  2. Open General.txt logs and look for the lines.

    2024-05-30 14:07:04 UTC :: Suspected VPN adapter 'Fortinet SSL VPN Virtual Ethernet Adapter'. IP: '169.254.124.55
    2024-05-30 14:07:04 UTC :: Waiting additional time for VPN adapter to fully initialize

  3. If the VPN adapter has an APIPA 169.X.X.X Address in the agent logs this is because of the update KB2693643 being installed on Windows 11. Uninstall this update to resolve the issue. For further assistance, follow the KB article below: Troubleshooting Tip: SSL VPN is getting an APIPA IP range.
