Description

This article describes collecting Persistent Agent debug logs in Windows machines for troubleshooting purposes.

Scope

FortiNAC.

Solution

The following log files are created on the host computer upon installation of the Persistent Agent:

Agent Versions 5.x, 9.x and 10.x and F7.6.x:

bndaemon_log.txt
general.txt
general_1.txt <-- Archive file introduced in Agent v7.6.0.

On Microsoft Vista and later, these files are located in the following directory:

%ProgramData%\Bradford Networks

Agent versions 7.6 and greater:

The general log file is now archived (general_1.txt).

Only 1 archive file is written.

Restarting the agent twice overwrites the original log file.

Note: If it is impossible to see any of these files, it is necessary to reinstall the agent as the current installation might be corrupted.

Attach these files to the case. Upon submission, add a case comment with the following information:

  • Details regarding the symptoms experienced, including any error messages.
  • Steps were taken that resulted in the symptoms.
