Description

This article describes how to resolve errors when attempting to SSH to a newly deployed Azure FortiNAC-F-VM.

Error:

If the following error messages appear when attempting to SSH to a newly deployed Azure FortiNAC-F VM, it means that the Data Disk creation step of the Azure FNAC-F VM deployment was missed:

Solution

To validate the missing Data Disk from the Azure Portal, select the VM and on the left menu select Disks from the Settings section. Towards the bottom of the Disks page, 'No data disks attached' will appear.

To resolve these errors, it is necessary to create and attach a data disk to the VM:

 

  1. From the Portal Home -> Virtual Machines view, select the created VM.
  2.  Select 'Stop' and wait for the VM to show that it is shut down.

  1. In the Settings section, on the menu, select Disks.
  2. Once the Disks view is loaded, under the Data Disks section, select the Create and Attach a new Disk option.
  3. Set the Disk name to (vm name)_DataDisk_0 example: FNAC-7-2-5_DataDisk_0 
  4. Set the Size to 100 GiB minimum. (Also select preferred storage type).
  5. Apply the changes, and then start the VM up again.

After the VM starts up, it will now be possible to SSH to the appliance and set the initial password for the admin account, as the deployment guide outlines.
