Description | This article describes the notification private-data-encryption that pop-up from FortiManager. |
Scope |
The private data encryption was enabled from the FortiGate side. When enabling the encryption, it is necessary to verify from the FortiManager side. Hence, it must remember the encryption password. |
Solution |
When the encryption is forgotten, there are 2 options:
1) Disable the encryption: - Login to the FortiGate:
# config system global (global) set private-data-encryption disable (global) end
- From the FortiManager, ensure the config status sync or auto-update. - If the config device status has a conflict or is modified, retrieve the config. - After disabling, the notification of encryption never appears from the FortiManager.
2) Change the encryption: - To change the encryption, disable the encryption from the FortiGate, and enable the back and field in the new password. - From the FortiManager the notification will pop up and it is necessary to verify using a new encryption password.
If the encryption is not important for the side, it is better to disable the encryption. |
