The private data encryption was enabled from the FortiGate side.

When enabling the encryption, it is necessary to verify from the FortiManager side. Hence, it must remember the encryption password.

Solution

When the encryption is forgotten, there are 2 options:

1) Disable the encryption:

 - Login to the FortiGate:

# config system global

(global) set private-data-encryption disable

(global) end

 - From the FortiManager, ensure the config status sync or auto-update.

- If the config device status has a conflict or is modified, retrieve the config.

- After disabling, the notification of encryption never appears from the FortiManager.

2) Change the encryption:

- To change the encryption, disable the encryption from the FortiGate, and enable the back and field in the new password.

- From the FortiManager the notification will pop up and it is necessary to verify using a new encryption password.

If the encryption is not important for the side, it is better to disable the encryption.
