This article describes different ways to delete the FortiGate that is registered to the FortiManager.

 

Scope

 

FortiManager v7.0.x, v7.2.x, v7.4.x and FortiGate v7.0.x, v7.2.x, v7.4.x.

 

Solution

 

There are three different ways to delete a FortiGate device from the FortiManager.

 

  1. Deletion of the device from the FortiManager GUI.
  1. Log to the FortiManager and then navigate to the ADOM -> Device Manager.
  2. Find the device through the Search menu with the help of the device name or the serial number.
  3. Select the device and then select Delete. Here is an example.

   2. Deletion of the device from the FortManager CLI.

 

  1. To delete a FortiGate from the FortiManager CLI, follow the steps in this article.

 3. Deletion of the device from FortiGate CLI.

 

  1. Login to the FortiGate and either SSH or open the CLI with the help of the CLI Button on the top right corner of the FortiGate GUI.
  2. Run the command 'get system central-management'. This will provide the details of the FortiManager that is connected to, such as the Serial number, IP, and other related settings.
  3. To unregister, use the command 'execute central-mgmt unregister-device <FortiManager-Serial-Number>'. Use the FortiManager serial number from the command executed above. For example:
