Solution |
Extended DSN is a new feature starting from FortiMail v7.4.0. This feature will enable the users to receive a notification upon successful delivery of outbound email.
To enable this feature on FortiMail, it is necessary to navigate via GUI to System -> Mail setting and enable 'Extended DSN service'. It is also possible to customize the successful delivery template under 'success DSN template'.
For this feature to work, it is also necessary to enable the 'Delivery status notification' before sending the email to the Mail client, for example, Outlook, Thunderbird, …etc.
In Outlook: Under File -> Option -> Mail -> Tracking (Delivery receipt confirming the message was delivered to the recipient’s email server/Read receipt confirming the recipient viewed the message).
In Thunderbird: Go to Underwrite -> Option (Return Receipt and Delivery Status Notification).
