Description |
This article describes how to resolve an issue where, when trying to upgrade FortiGate, and FortiAPs using Fabric upgrade, the upgrade fails, and the error 'The device could not be rebooted' is observed in the GUI.
In system events logs it is observed:

When hovering the mouse over the upgrade status column, the message 'The device could not be rebooted' is observed.
From the configuration file, the following is seen:

Solution |
Scenario 1. When upgrading the FortiGate and FortiAPs using the security fabric upgrade fails, try the following:
After the above steps, the upgrade should be successful.
Scenario 2. Upgrade has been performed via GUI: System -> Fabric Management, select the FortiGate and select the Upgrade option.
Upgrade FortiGate via GUI by using the File Upload option in System -> Fabric Management.
