This article describes details on the ‘Long Term Support’ and ‘Extended EOS’ for v6.4 and v7.2.

Scope FortiGate.
Solution
  1. Login to the Fortinet customer support portal - support.fortinet.com.
  2. Select ‘Guidelines and Policies’ from the ‘Support’ menu.

  3. Select the ‘Service Description - FortiCare Technical Support’ file from the ‘Service Descriptions’ menu.

Referring to ‘Long Term Support Software’ on page 3 of the ‘Service Description - FortiCare Technical Support’ document.

 

Describing Summary:

Fortinet may label certain minor software releases as Long Term Support (LTS) firmware.

Only customers with an active FortiCare Elite service contract are entitled to receive LTS firmware updates until the extended end-of-support date. Customers with Essential or Premium FortiCare contracts are NOT eligible to receive LTS updates released after the standard end-of-support date.

 

As a result, the ‘Extended EOS’ for ‘Long Term Support’ for v6.4 and v7.2 only applies to users with FortiCare Elite subscriptions.

 

  1. Select 'Product Life Cycle' to check the Target for ‘Long Term Support’ with the following on the support portal.

  1. Select the 'SOFTWARE' column and check the 'Long Term Support' FortiOS and Extended EOS period.
