Technical Tip: Hardware switch interface is showing 'Failed to load data'

Description	This article describes how to fix the issue after restoring the configuration file in the new FortiGate or migrating the device.
Scope	FortiGate.
Solution	Note: This will bring downtime in the network, as it requires a reboot for the system. Confirm the hardware switch configuration through CLI. For example, the configuration should look like this: config system interface     showedit "internal"                set vdom "root"                set ip 10.0.0.1 255.255.255.0                set allowaccess ping https snmp http fgfm                set type hard-switch                set device-identification enable                set lldp-transmission enable                set role lan                set snmp-index 9  Take the backup of the configuration. Remove all the references from the hardware switch interface and download the configuration file. Now in Notepad, Remove the 'hard-switch' interface configuration from the downloaded configuration file and restore the configuration on FortiGate. (This will reboot the device). After uploading the configuration, it is necessary to reconfigure the interface. Now, it is possible to load the Hardware switch interface via GUI.
