Description This article describes and demonstrates which command to run when troubleshooting license issues showing as expired after upgrades or renewal or showing a trial license on FortiDDoS.
Scope FortiDDoS.
Solution
  1. Validate FortiDDoS so both management interfaces can reach FortiGuard services. For more details, see the following document:  7.0.1 FortiGuard.

    config system interface
        edit mgmtx    <--- required to reach FortiGuard services.
            set ip x.x.x.x/24
            set allowaccess https ping ssh snmp http

  2. After mgmt can reach FortiGuard services:

  1. Go to System -> FortiGuard. Under 'Schedule' uncheck 'Override Server'.
  2. Open SSH to FortiDDoS and run the following:

exec update.fortiguard.net
exec fortiguard-database_update

  1. Then validate the system status.

CLI: 'get system status'
GUI: System -> FortiGuard.

  1. If the problem is still present, open a case with the Fortinet TAC Team (Technical Tip: FortiDDoS commands to open a new ticket to TAC).
