Description
This article describes how to correct an error message ‘Failed to check email alerts: (False, False)’ that is displayed in FortiClient EMS Log Viewer.
Scope
FortiClient EMS on-prem, EMS Cloud.
Solution
If the SMTP Server was not configured but EMS Alerts and Endpoints Alerts were enabled in the EMS System Settings, EMS will repeatedly display this error message ‘Failed to check email alerts: (False, False)’ because it does not know how to construct the email.
Since the SMTP server was not configured to send email notifications, all EMS and Endpoint Alerts need to be disabled to stop the error message displayed in the EMS Log Viewer.
