Technical Tip: How to send email notification which contains FortiClient installer package that embedded with invitation code

Description	This article describes a tip to send an email to recipients that contains a created FortiClient installer package from EMS that is embedded with an invitation code.
Scope	EMS on-prem and Cloud.
Solution	Normally after creating the invitation code and adding the recipient email address, the user will automatically receive an email notification as below: After selecting the installer on the desired OS icon, it will redirect to download a FortiClientOnlineInstaller.exe which does not contain any customized package. However, this is not most of the user requirements as most would like to achieve below: To provide a FortiClient installer to the end user via email notification. To provide a FortiClient installer that was custom-created its package from EMS. To ensure FortiClient zero trust telemetry is automatically connected to EMS using an invitation code upon completing the installation. As a workaround, the below step by steps can be taken to send an email notifications to recipient which contains the FortiClient installer that is embedded with an invitation code to automatically connect FortiClient telemetry to EMS: Create an invitation code with the 'Bulk' type (to be used by multiple users) without the recipient's email address and select Save. Do not select the checkbox for 'Send Email Notifications' yet. Create the FortiClient Installer to select the desired installer version and select the created invitation code from step no 1. Continue the rest of the setting as desired and select Save & Exit.                                                                                  Once finished, select the Generate ZIP icon under the Download Link on the created FortiClient installer and then select Confirm to generate an installer ZIP file. ZIP file must be generated first, else it will not be available to download later at step 5.                                                                                 Now can edit the invitation code that was created in Step 1 to insert recipients to send email notifications to users. Select the 'Send Email Notifications' checkbox, add the 'Email Recipients' address, and select Save.                                            Note that for EMS on-prem, the option 'Send Email Notifications' can only be enabled if the SMTP server setting is configured. Refer to this document to Configuring SMTP Server settings. Users will now receive email Invitation from FortiClient Cloud and can select the installer URL link. Do not select the installer icon as it will redirect to the other installer (FortiClientOnlineInstaller.exe), not the customized 'FCT725 installer' that has been packaged in EMS. The downloaded installer can now be installed on the endpoint machine and it will automatically register to the EMS telemetry.
