Solution |
Admin rights are required to start or shut down FortiClient because FortiClient starts/stops services and drivers. More specifically, when shutting down FortiClient (via the system tray), stop the Windows service fa_scheduler. When starting a currently shutdown FortiClient (by double-clicking the desktop icon), it starts the Windows service fa_scheduler. Both of these actions require admin rights.
To start FortiClient make sure to have admin rights and run the application as an administrator as follows:
To shut down FortiClient, locate the application in the tray icon, right-click, and select 'Shutdown FortiClient'. The Windows Security window will show up type the administrator account's user name and password, and then select OK. |
