Solution |
Below are the steps to configure the Windows client for 802.1X authentication.
Step 1: Search for services.msc on the Windows machine and open the services application. Step 2: 'Right-click' on Wired AutoConfig and select Properties. Step 3: Change the Startup type to Automatic.
Step 4: Restart the Windows machine so that the new changes will apply and start running. Step 5: Select the respective Ethernet LAN connection, 'right click' and open properties. Step 6: A new TAB will be available under properties namely Authentication. Step 7: Select IEEE 802.1X authentication and select Microsoft: Smart Card or other certificate from the drop-down menu.
