Description
This article, using FortiAuthenticator for illustration, describes how to change the administrative IP address on virtual machines for Fortinet products such as FortiAuthenticator, FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer.

Solution
License for FortiAuthenticator virtual machine is linked to the administrative IP address assigned for the first time.
Once the license is activated, specify which address will be used for administrative task even if that is a local one.

Changing the IP address for any reason from the GUI or CLI will fail the license.
The process to solve that issue is as follow:

Go to Manage product -> Information -> General and choose the virtual machine for FortiAuthenticator.

Choose the Edit Product information option and there, change the new IP to be assigned:

Save the changes and download the license file.
Go to the GUI and update the license file.
Reboot, the system will be operational once again.
