Description

This article describes how to change the administrative IP address on virtual machines for Fortinet products such as FortiAuthenticator, FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer.

Scope

FortiAuthenticator-VM, FortiAnalyzer-VM, FortiManager-VM.

Solution

The license for the VM (FortiAuthenticator/FortiAnalyzer/FortiManager) virtual machine is linked to the administrative IP address assigned for the first time. Once the license is activated, specify which address will be used for administrative task even if that is local.

This procedure also applies if for some reason it is necessary to change the IP of the VM

Changing the IP address for any reason from the GUI or CLI will fail the license. The process to solve that issue is as follows:

Go to https://support.fortinet.com/ then Asset management -> My assets-> Product list and look for the serial number of the virtual machine whose IP will be edited.
