Technical Tip: Management IP for Fortinet VM products

Description

This article provides information concerning the management IP for the VM (Virtual Machine).

Scope

• FortiManager VM (KVM, VMware, Hyper-V, AWS, Azure, XEN)
• FortiAnalyzer VM (KVM, VMware, Hyper-V, AWS, Azure, XEN)
• FortiAuthenticator (KVM, VMware, Hyper-V)
• FortiSandbox (KVM, VMware)

Solution

Irrespective of any HYPERVISOR / CLOUD platform, the following apply for FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSandbox and FortiAuthenticator:

• The management IP should be specified on any one of the ports (interface) in the VM.
• It must be specified so that the license will be activated.
• The support portal will allow the Management IP to be changed a maximum of 5 times.
