Description

This article describes how to verify if SSID is being broadcasted by FortiAP.

Scope FortiAP .
Solution
  1. Check the 'vcfg'output from FortiAP CLI as to whether the SSID status is up or down by performing an SSH to the FortiAP.

Steps to take SSH access for FortiAP:

FortiAP CLI access

  1. If an interface is down, it is a country code issue. The country code could be fixed using the below KB article: Technical Note: Changing country setting on a wireless controller
  2. If the interface is up then the issue could be a beacon failure in the FortiAP. Login to FortiAP CLI and run the below command:

 #apstats -v -i <----- WiFi interface name.

Beacon success                  = 15465

Beacon failed                   = 1901

If any beacon failure is noticed then the SSID is failing to send the beacon frames. Collect the logs and share to the TAC team with a new support ticket along with '#fap-tech' output.
