Description This article describes how to restore a FortiADC after RMA.
Scope FortiADC, FortiADC-VM
Solution

Administration Access:

  1. Access the CLI console.
  2. Configure management IP.
  3. Access management IP through GUI.
  4.  Enter admin with no password and set a new password if required: Getting Started

 

Firmware upgrade:
RMA units may not come with the same firmware version as existing ones, so it is necessary to upgrade or downgrade to the running version: Restoring firmware 

 

FortiGuard:
Ensure replacement unit management IPs are allowed to the Internet for license synchronization.

Select 'Update Fortiguard Service Definitions' to synchronize.

 

or

 

Run below CLI command below for synchronization:


execute update-now


Configuration restore.


Standalone setup:

If the node was being used as a standalone, go to System,  select the Backup & Restore tab, select Restore, select Local PC/Server, choose File, and select the Upload button.

 

Note:

FortiADC will restart upon configuration restore

 

HA cluster setup:

The node can be added to the HA cluster and it will synchronize its configuration with the current Primary once requirements are met: HA system requirements
