Hi James,

No worries, please download the image file below via the Fortinet Egnyte link. It's the latest MC4200 image compatible with the AP320 being SD 7.0-13.
You'll need to open up the MC4200, remove the compact flash card, connect it to your PC and use an imaging tool, such as Win-Image to load the image file onto the compact flash card.
Once complete, you can then put the card back into the MC4200 and it should boot up ok. Then run setup via CLI etc.

Hi James,

What System Director version did you need? Depending on how corrupt it is you make need to remove the compact flash card,  re-image it using WinImage + a controller image file. you have a backup or can reconfigure it.

Kind Regards,
John

Hi John,

My MC4200 stopped working and I have an yellow LED next to HDD on the face of the unit. So i am guessing the memory card went belly up.
I am not sure which version of system director I need, I am using AP320s with the MC4200 so what ever version would work best with these APs.

i dont have a backup, so i will try to reconfigure once i get it restarted.

Thanks for the quick reponse.

Hi John

I have same problem in a Master-Slave setup. MC4200 - master with broken CF kart, AP 332, AP320 (and AP311) Access points.

Can you help me with the image file for 5.3-50, so I can get back to running config.

(Before maybe an upgrade to 7.0.13)

Hi Ole,

Sure here's a copy of the SD 5.3-50 image file for the MC4200.

You'll need to open up the MC4200, remove the compact flash card, connect it to your PC and use an imaging tool, such as Win-Image to load the image file onto the compact flash card.
Once complete, you can then put the card back into the MC4200 and it should boot up ok. Then run setup via CLI and restore you backup-config.

I can't help you with the upgrade to SD 7.0-13 as this is a supported version so needs to be obtained via the Fortinet support portal.

Hi John

Thanks for the help, I'm now up and running in test. Small problem, what to do with controller serial number and AP lic licenses.
(I have lic files)
I can't immediately find anything on the topic on the web.

Regards Ole

Hi Ole,

Controller System ID/Serial number will not change as this is hardcoded into the Controller BIOS. License files should be able to be reimported or you can restore the sysconfig backup which contains these. If you have done this backup?

If you are running SD 7.0-13 license file are no longer required. The appliance will support the full capacity of access points i.e. 500 AP's without the need for license files.

Kind Regards,

Do you have an image for the 1550? Our controllers crashes everytime we try to upgrade. Thank you.-------------------------------------------
