This article explains a behavior that may occur when attempting to uninstall or install a Persistent Agent package on a Windows host where the software was originally installed via Group Policy.
FortiNAC and Persistent Agent.
Due to the nature of this installation method (using the '.msi' package and custom actions), the following alerts may appear on the end host during the installation or uninstallation of a new software version:
The Persistent Agent for Windows OS is available in both EXE and MSI formats, and the same behavior may occur regardless of the format used.
The old/original file (.msi), which was previously deployed, needs to be present on the old path to proceed further. The original file can also be used locally on the PC to install/uninstall the agent.
