Description
Support for FortiManager-VM 32-bit has been discontinued in v5.4.1. Customers are encouraged to migrate to using FortiManager-VM 64-bit.

Solution
The steps to migrate are as follows:

1) Upgrade FortiManager-VM 32bit to v5.4.0

2) Backup the FortiManager-VM 32bit configuration file.

3) Download the FortiManager-VM 64bit v5.4.1 image from support.fortinet.com

4) Review the FortiManager-VM v5.4.1 Release Notes at docs.fortinet.com

5) Deploy the image on a 64bit server.

6) The VM license requires the IP address to be registered at support.fortinet.com Two options are available:
a) Power off the FortiManager-VM 32bit unit and use the same IP on the 64bit unit, or
b) Use a different IP address and modify the registered IP address on the Support portal.
7) Migrate the backed up settings onto the 64bit FortiManager.  Further information can be found in the FortiManager Admin Guide (v5.4.1) in the section 'Migrating the configuration'.
