Description | This article describes how to rectify the DUP! ping result on the FortiGate. |
Scope | All FortiGate. |
Solution |
This results occurred when a duplicate IP address has been created. It could be a configuration issue or human error. In this case, FortiGate pings an internal IP address (10.11.150.11), and the output indicates that it has 'DUP!', resulting in occasional ping drops or packet loss.
There are two options to rectify the issue. To check for duplicate IP addresses, use the command 'get sys arp | grep <IP_address>'. Then, clean up the addresses on the arp table using the command 'execute clear system arp table'.
The second way is to manually check and delete the address in Addresses. To find a certain subnet or network, go to Select Policy & Objects -> Addresses and select 'Search'.
To resolve the issue, go to the aforementioned panel as shown above and manually check and delete any unneeded addresses or address groups. |
