Technical Tip: Changes in ‘Central Management‘ option

Description

To maitain a FortiGate unit using a FortiManger unit, add the FortiGate to the FortiManager.

This requires configuration on both the units.

This article describes the basics to configure management using a FortiManager device.

Solution
Before 6.0 :

To configure the FortiGate from GUI.

1) Log in to the FortiGate .
2) Go to System -> Settings.
3) Under Central Management, select 'FortiManager'.
4) Enter the IP/Domain Name of the FortiManager unit.
5) Select 'Apply'.

From 6.0 and above:

 To configure the FortiGate from GUI.
 
1.    Log in to the FortiGate .
2.    Go to Security Fabric -> Settings.
3.    Enable Central Management option.
4.    Set Type as 'FortiManager'.
5.    Enter the IP/Domain Name of the FortiManager.
6.    Select 'Apply'.
