The following applies to all the Fortinet products in AWS that use BYOL licensing model. (FortiGate-VM/FortiWeb-VM/FortiAnalyzer-VM/FortiManager-VM/FortiMail-VM/FortiWeb Manager)
There would be situations where BYOL licenses for Fortinet products in AWS needs to be moved to a different instance from an existing instance. This is possible. The important thing is that the original AWS instance should be shut down within 24 hours of moving the license to another instance – otherwise the new instance will be invalidated. At any given time, there can be only one instance using the Fortinet license in AWS.
