Using a modem to connect to firewall

Hi, I was wondering if it would be a wise idea to connect an external modem to my Fortigate-60 device, so I could connect to the firewall in case the network went down (note this is for a remote location). I realize it would be somewhat of a moot point, if the network is down, no way the firewall would be doing anything anyways... My idea would simply be to have the modem there, connected via the serial port, and I could dial in, and use terminal emulation software to make any changes/fixes via the CLI. Is this a good/bad idea? Is anyone doing this currently? Note - I don' t want to have the modem connected for a fail over connection - rather, just means for me to connect. The more I think about this, the less sure I want to implement it. Thanks. -Tim
