Fortinet Not passing Novell Client Authentication to Border Manager Proxy

Hi All, We have a client who has a novell environment, we are using a fortinet device to route traffic between two of their networks which are on different subnets. Firewall is configured to pass ALL TO ALL in both directions. It seem though that the fortinet is NOT passing the " client trust authentication" back to the novell Border Manager Proxy server. what traffic does this use ? tcp/udp ? and what port ?

Sounds like the content scanning could be getting in the way. Does it work if you temporarily turn of the protection profile on the policy and just use routing (or VPN - not sure how they' re connected).
