Wifi/Radius on Fortinet option?

Hi All,

Our current NPS/Radius servers are Windows 2012 and we are looking to move this over to new 2022 servers this weekend.

From what I've read so far I dont see where the Fortinets have the option to do RADIUS themselves and need to point to a RADIUS server for wifi authentication/policies.

Anyone here done a different method for wifi auth/policies without having to build new windows servers?

Hello

If I understand well you want WiFi authentication without external RADIUS.

You are probably looking for this:

Hi @kazoo9,

FortiGate can't act as a RADIUS server. I believe you are looking for a temporary way for users to authenticate until the new RADUIS server is ready? If that is the case, you can create local users on FortiGate as mentioned in the link provided by AEK: https://docs.fortinet.com/document/fortiap/7.4.1/fortiwifi-and-fortiap-configuration-guide/985224/ba...

Hi @kazoo9,

Fortinet has additional product that support Radius feature like Fortiauthenticator, FortiNAC.

Additionally i guess behind there is a LDAP server so you can just associate the user to LDAP and then the users will authenticate throw LDAP directly instead of NPS Radius.
