Refresh browser window within sslvpn

I have an SSL VPN all setup and working ok on a test FGT50B. Depending on the username/password it will give the relevant portal with tunnel mode or without tunnel mode. However after I login if the browser window that has the relevant portal is refreshed either by clicking refresh or pressing f5 the session is terminate and I am presented with the ssl vpn login page. Checking under user - monitor - ssl it the fortigate has the user logged in and is not cleared until I manually click the delete icon. I have tried with all versions of Fortios4.0.x including the new 4.0.3 and different browsers but the samething happens. The reason I ask is this would be rolled out to a larger audience on a larger Fortigate and users will undoubtedly press F5 or refresh the browser at somepoint. Is this normal or have I missed something??
