Forticlient AutoStart - No User Intervention

Hi all, I currently have a need to start a preconfigured tunnel upon bootup. - I know that I can have the little icon at the startup screen, and that works well. I am dealing with professionals that clicking on icons is too much work and can be confusing ... So I have a pre-configured profile that works and My plan is to stick the client in the startup group within windows. So here is my question... is there a way to automatically start that connection after the the apps starts. I appreciate all the input as always. So information: - Windows XP professional computer running Forticlient 4.2.2.67 - This is termination on a Forigate 60B running v4.0,build0291,100824 (MR2 Patch 2) Thanks, RW

Hi, have a look at this: COM interface to Fclient: http://support.fortinet.com/forum/tm.asp?m=69829 and " start VPN before Windows logon" http://support.fortinet.com/forum/tm.asp?m=65513 quote: " Under the VPN tab there is an option to have FC start a VPN even before you log in, in order to connect to a remote domain and get a domain login. Thanks very much for your reply. The option for starting the client before windows requires user input from what I can see. It puts a " Small" Icon in the bottom left of the login window that the user has to click on. Now that is okay with me, but I am dealing with people that may not see that Icon, and if they have to click on it, that is too much. I know its funny, but these " end users" are not in the habbit of doing anything " Extra" So, thats why I thought that putting the client application in their startup folder and then applying a optional Switch to the Target to get it to automatically start that connection. So, I will take a look at the API reference you provided, but when I looked at it before, It didn' t look like what I wanted. It was close, but maybe I should look at it again. Thanks again for all the valuable input, I do appreciate it, and if anyone has any additional tidbits, please post them. RW
