Downsides to dhcp on fortigate on a smallish network?

Reorganizing my network and looking to throw my network gateways and dhcp on a fortigate 100f.

Not a huge network, 5 /25 networks but only about 20 users, nothing crazy.

I know it’s recommended to run on a server but with this small of a network is there any negative to just running it on the fortigate and avoid added complexities of dhcp forwarding.

Hello,

FortiGate 100F has plenty of computing power to handle 20 DHCP users. You may consider to use FortiGate as DHCP server unless you have some specific requirements.

Hi,

Fortigate 100F should be more then enough for your network to serve as DHCP. I would also suggest to have a look at the Max-value-table and search for DHCP

Sheikh
