Check update for FortiGate 30E

I have a rented FortiGate 30E, this equipment is managed by a third party company, I have read-only access to check some information on the equipment. However, I need to know if this company is maintaining the necessary needs, I know that the equipment is in version: v6.0.14 build0457 (GA) how can I check, that is, where on the Fortinet manufacturer's website I can find out if there is an update for my equipment.

I registered on forticloud and when accessing: https://support.fortinet.com/Download/FirmwareImages.aspx it says that I don't have equipment covered by the contract. I don't want to download Firmware I just want to know which update versions are available. How to query this information?

Thanks!

Hi,

if you do not have a valid access to support.fortinet.com, then your options are a bit limited.
As you would have no access to Life Cycle base doc https://support.fortinet.com/Information/ProductLifeCycle.aspx

Which would tell you that 6.0 was released in 2018 and is officially End-of-Support since 2022-09-29 and engineering support (firmware updates) were terminated in spring 2021.

However there are still few places where to see which FortiOS versions are out and supported.
One of such places is Documentation site https://docs.fortinet.com/product/fortigate/7.2
And there are FortiOS Release Notes with section of Supported FortiGate models ..

https://docs.fortinet.com/document/fortigate/6.4.11/fortios-release-notes/760203/introduction-and-su... - and as you can see there, 30E is not supported in latest 6.4

So let's check 6.2 ..

https://docs.fortinet.com/document/fortigate/6.2.12/fortios-release-notes/760203/introduction-and-su...
.. and there IS 30E noted and so latest 6.2.12 FortiOS could be used.
However I would strongly suggest to read Release notes, pay attention to Upgrade Path, and most importantly coordinate and check with unit's administrator. As he might have reasons to run older version.

PS: I would suggest to try to communicate here in English, if possible. It could speed up process.

Good Morning!
Tom Xsilver, thank you very much for the information, I wrote in Portuguese in order to find Brazilians in the community, because my English is weak, I am using Goolge Translator I hope I can understand.
In the photo you sent it shows that the version is at 7.2 but the one that serves my box 30E is 6.2.12, from the next version to 7.2 is no longer supported that my box will be discontinued?
Another question would be how much support dates, end of the engineering support date would be if necessary they release any release data? And the end of the support date would be if I have a problem I need to have the version within its expiration date to be 'answered'?

About your comment, 'about reason to perform an old version,' I don't know either, that's what I will try to find out, I believe it is the lack of an acting plan. Because as improvement of our safety we hired a company to manage firewall, but was following some news (https://boletimsec.com.br/falha-crítica-explored-e-fornece-accessa-a-vpns-da- Fortinet/) that came to me as a warning, is the firewall security company keeping the appropriate updates of the equipment up to date? From what I observed for the available version of update, no!
Thus with your guidelines I will be able to maintain the verification of this equipment whether or not it is updated. Thank you very much.
