Assign DNS/WINS IPs to PPTP interface

Hello, 1. Using device: Fortigate-50B 3.00-b0730(MR7 Patch 1) 2. PPTP VPN server: configured as described in FortiGate PPTP VPN User Guide 01-30004-0349-20070201.pdf, including FW policy, groups and users 3. On Windows XP created VPN connection to FG VPN server Client connect to FG server normally, all internal IPs are pinged, but DNS and WINS servers IPs fields stays unassigned. I can fill these fields manually, but it is better to assign WINS/DNS by the server-side FG VPN. How the PPTP VPN clients can obtain DNS/WINS IPs automatically? Thank you.

Hello and welcome, this is and old topic and the answer is: you can' t Workarounds : that you' ve suggested above (client manual assignement ) or use Ipsec or SSL VPNs. regards,
