Description

This article provides information on the number of IP addresses that an FQDN address object can store in a FortiGate.

Scope

FortiGate.

Solution

FortiGate can store the following number of IP addresses in an FQDN:

1000 entries of IP address up until 7.0.3 firmware version.
3000 entries of IP address from 7.0.4 or later.

Once the limit is crossed, old entries are deleted first.

Note:

It is recommended to use the 'Internet Service Database' on FortiGate if a public FQDN can resolve to more than 1000/3000 IP addresses.
