Description

This article explains the change in speed and duplex settings on FortiGate 10G ports (x1, x2, x3, and x4) after the firmware upgrade from v7.2.5 to v7.2.6.

Scope FortiGate. Only 40xF and 60XF models are affected.
Solution

After upgrading from v7.2.5 to v7.2.6, the command 'set speed 1000auto' is no longer available in the interface settings of ports X1 - X4.

This firmware update results in the port speed reverting to 10G and potentially leading to connectivity issues.

The reported problem, identified by bug ID 967171, is slated for resolution on v7.2.7. It is important to note that the port speed was not intended to change during the firmware upgrade from v7.2.5GA to 7.2.6GA.

One workaround, for example, is to manually set the speed to 1000 full.

config system interface
    edit <interface name>
        set speed 1000full
    next

end
