Description

 

This article discusses about several CLI commands to connect/disconnect from EMS.

 

These CLI commands can be used when FortiClient GUI is stuck or not responding.

 

Note1.

All commands will require admin privilege on the PC (run cmd as Administrator).


Note2.

This works only when Require Password to Disconnect from EMS option is disabled.

 

Scope

 

FortiClient 6.4.7, FortiClient 7.0.3+.

 

Solution

 

For FortiClient 6.4.7.

 

To register to EMS Cloud:

 

"C:\Program Files\Fortinet\FortiClient\FortiESNAC.exe" -c REG_REG_TO_CLOUD -a invitation_code

 

Replace EMS-IP with the actual EMS invitation code, eg:

 

"C:\Program Files\Fortinet\FortiClient\FortiESNAC.exe" -c REG_REG_TO_CLOUD -a DXTGBEA8GBET7N90CTF39S0288GG6644

 

To deregister from EMS: 

 

"C:\Program Files\Fortinet\FortiClient\FortiESNAC.exe" -c REG_UNREGISTER

 

For FortiClient 7.0.3+.

 

To register to EMS or EMS Cloud: 

 

"C:\Program Files\Fortinet\FortiClient\FortiESNAC.exe" -r EMS-IP/FQDN/invitation-code

 

Replace with actual EMS IP, FQDN or invitation code.

 

To deregister from EMS: 

 

"C:\Program Files\Fortinet\FortiClient\FortiESNAC.exe" -u

Note.

Deployment of FCT via Intune/SCCM is not supported by Fortinet TAC Support.
