Solution
The remote APs(AP1020) were not discovering the controller with HP switch (1810-48G). The local APs work fine.
The customer had installed a new HP 1810-48G switch, and had enabled broadcast storm control and auto-dos prevention on the switch(normally off by default).
Turned both of these off, and all remote APs came back online. Customer has checked and all remote offices are now working fine.
