How to perform an AP swap in CLI?

Solution
Step 1: Login to the controller’s CLI, either through ssh or serial

 
Step 2: Show a list of APs, enter command: show ap


Step 3: Enter configuration mode in CLI, enter command: config terminal

 

Step 4: Swap desired APs using MAC addresses, enter command: swap ap XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:X1 XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:X2 (replace “XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:X1” with AP MAC address)

 

Step 5: Exit config terminal, enter command: exit

 

Step 6: To view the swap configuration, enter command: show ap-swap

 

Step 7: Now disconnect the old AP and make sure status show Disabled/Offline

 

Step 8: Replace the old AP with the new one
