Description

How to granularly define which Captive Portal host page can be used in IDM?

Scope

KB ARTICLE TYPE: Configuration

RELATED PRODUCTS: IDM

RELATED SOFTWARE VERSIONS: 12.6, 13.2 and 13.6

KEYWORDS: Captive Portal, IDM, portal rules,

Solution
- One can setup multiple different Captive Portal web-pages for different uses.

- These might vary on the basis of client-types, type of RADIUS client, type of ESSID profile the client is connecting to, IP-address, etc.
- Thus, Captive Portal web portals configured on the IDM can be granularly chosen by setting up guest portal rules.

To setup a guest portal rule:

- Browse to Guest Portals =>Portal Rules.
- Click on Add Rule to create rules.
- You can also Test Portal Rules and set up configuration parameters to check which rule will get hit.
