Solution
While configuring WEP64 keys and clicking on OK, an error “Length of ASCII WEP64 key must be 5” is generated.
STEPS TAKEN FOR TROUBLESHOOTING:
STEP 1: | Verify the length of the WEP64 key. It should be 5 characters (the ! character is not allowed). |
STEP 2: | If entering a key in hexadecimal format, 10 hexadecimal digits must be used, preceeded by 0x. |
RESOLUTION: | Preceeded the 10 digit hexadecimal key with 0x. |
ROOT CAUSE: | The hexadecimal key being configured was not preceeded by a 0x. |
