Thank you so much! After months of trying various methods unsuccessfully
(and ultimately resorting to using a VM), I can now finally run
Forticlient VPN directly on my system.
I tried this version, but it still has the same issue. I set up a
virtual machine with Xubuntu 20.04, and I can connect without any issues
inside it. At this point, I'm seriously considering giving up and
reverting my system back to 20.04.
