I had Forticlient 6.0 installed in a Windows 10 VM for test purposes.
(This is the VPN-only client without the other functions.) However after
attempting to uninstall the program via "Programs & Features" it was
still there despite no error messages ...
We are migrating from a Fortigate 30E (firmware 5.4.3) to a FortiWiFi
60F (firmware 6.4.3). The IPsec VPN on the new device was set up using
the wizard, and with split tunnel enabled. This worked fine on the old
unit but on the new one the VPN works ...
It looks like the FortiWiFi 60F (firmware 6.4.3) has the flexibility to
accommodate a wireless network of arbitrary complexity. Our needs are
much simpler, we really only need the built-in WiFi to bridge radios to
the LAN, like a consumer-grade route...
As part of an office move we are upgrading from a FortiGate 30E to a
FortiWiFi-60F security appliance. Is it possible to save the 30E
settings (users, network, VPN, etc.) and restore them to the 60F?
(Obviously settings that don't exist on the 30E su...
Problem being the option to exit Forticlient via the system tray icon is
grayed out. (Since it's the VPN-only client it's not a matter of it
being connected to the Fortigate for compliance.)
It really is terrible. There is no excuse for this kind of thing. On
another PC I was working on I tried to update Forticlient 6.0 to 6.4
(once again the VPN-only version) but the installer complained that the
old version had to be uninstalled first....
As a further test I disabled split tunnel in the IPsec configuration,
with the same result - the VPN works but the client PC's internet access
is cut off and the same change in the routing table is made where there
are two default routes.
As a test I uninstalled the old Forticlient and installed the latest
(version 6.4), but unfortunately the problem persists. Exact same
symptom, the VPN works but internet is cut off and two default gateways
appear in the routing table
