what type Encryption is uses in FortiGate to local users

Hello Engineers , 

 

Does anyone know what kind of encryption FortiGate uses for user passwords and how is it stored in the configuration file?

 i mean the local users what type pf encrypted that used ?

by default there is no encryption applied. The sensitive data in configuration are hashed. They uses hash to store the values. 

 

 

If you want to apply the encryption, you can enable private-data-encryption
