I have downloaded the FGT_VM64_SVM-v7.0.15.M-build0632-FORTINET.out.ovf from the Fortinet downloads portal
This appliance will be used with NSX integration.
I have deployed the OVF on the ESXi host. I accessed the Forti VM via url and have the serial number.
This is a trial license. I do not have a paid license here.
When I try to register the serial number on the Forti portal it returns an error
Please enter a valid registration number
I even tried registering the appliance from the UI portal however it did not work too.
Any suggestions here
Hello @lvaibhavt ,
You can't register FortiGate VM directly on the portal. You need to complete the registration process from FortiGate GUI.
You can follow this guide to register your unit.
Please check these articles for the Fortigate VM registration process
https://docs.fortinet.com/document/fortigate/7.4.4/administration-guide/441460
the command
execute vm-license-options account-id xxxx@fortinet.com
is not working
When I login, I see below options
config
get
show
exit
where do I run the above command?
I am running Fortigate-VMX-Service-Manager 7.2.8 for VMware NSX Integration
You should be able to run the command in the CLI and make sure the prompt is #
example: Atlantis-kvm57 # execute vm-license-options account-id xxxx@fortinet.com
What error did you receive while running this command?
this is what I see
where do I run the command?
You should be able to run the command on the prompt you added in the screenshot
Please check this discussion form it has few example for the VM registration commands
https://community.fortinet.com/t5/Support-Forum/Failed-to-download-license/m-p/246536
it is still not giving me the option
Do have a lab to try it out?
Now when I try accessing the machine it redirects to the license portal
I used my existing account and created a new one too however it does not work
any suggestions here
